Children

Jesus not only welcomed children but claimed that they are one of God’s ways to teach adults how to follow him. The Kids’ Talk, which takes place during the early part of Family Church, often causes adults to smile as children engage with the Bible.  After the Kids’ Talk and Song the children leave for age appropriate Bible Teaching and Activity. The Sunday Morning Program consists of two classes;

  • Kids@church  (pre-K to Year 2,) and
  • SALT (Yrs 3 – 6) who meet to learn about God’s character and purposes. The children also meet occasionally for a social activity.

The Kids’ Program is required to comply with our denomination’s ‘Breaking the Silence’ policy (child protection). This can be found at http://www.jerichoroad.org.au/bts/breaking-the-silence/

Youth

Our youth ministry asks: “what is the next step?”  At Blaxland Presbyterian we’re passionate about seeing teenagers (yrs 7 – 12) becoming more proactive in following Jesus and serving others.

The Alternative is a small group who study the Bible, pray, eat and enjoy themselves.  It meets between 5.30-7.00pm on a Sunday Evening.  Ideally the youth also attend Family Church and participate in ministries like: music, tech support and Kids@church aide.
